Health & Safety for Your Pet
We insist on the following formal policies in order to protect the health and safety of all our guests.
- We require current pet vaccinations for Rabies, Bordetella and DHPP. These must be documented by your veterinarian.
- All dog owners will need to complete an application regarding your dog's personality.
- Your dog will need to pass our temperament evaluation in order to measure compatibility with our other guests.
Inappropriate dog behavior will result in termination of our services for your pet. Inappropriate dog behavior includes, but is not limited to, bullying another dog, biting and fighting. We will discuss all situations and concerns candidly with you and recommend training options that may remedy any undesirable behavior.

Dogs are social animals and enjoy being part of the pack. They simply love to play together! At Paws & Pals, your dog will get to have fun with furry friends of the same size and personality.
Unlike some dog parks, your dog will be safe and secure under the watchful eye of our Pet Care Specialists. It's like going to the beach and having trained lifeguards on duty.
Many dogs also experience separation anxiety when left alone during the day. They may destroy furniture, have accidents in the house, bark non-stop or get very stressed out. This creates a difficult challenge for pet parents. Many people simply don't have the time to properly exercise their dogs due to long work hours and increasing commute times.

From Sue Braaten: I have been a groomer here at Paws & Pals for several years. I received my official training through the professional pet grooming course at Anoka Hennepin Technical College. I have been grooming for over ten years. I live in Lakeville with my husband James and three children, Sarah, Evie and Alex. We share our home with our standard poodle 'Gracie'. She is a wonderful addition to our family and has earned her Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International titles. We also have a medium haired cat named 'Piper'. He loves to rough house with Graci and play with the kids. I recently started to foster animals for the Humane Society. I enjoy having the opportunity to help animals inneed. In my spare time Ienjoy gardening and crafts and spending
time with my family.
From Cherie Stodieck: I live in Prior Lake with my family and our wonderful canine companions, Lucy, Chica, Smokie and Pixie. I also love horses and have ridden and trained for many years. I love to rodeo and run barrels!! I graduated from cosmetology school in 1987. I continued on doing hair for many years. My love for animals sent me in another direction and that was learning how to groom. I have been grooming for over a year and enjoy every minute of it. I look forward to meeting new people and their furry friends.

Dog and Puppy Training Services
Our training is presented in partnership with Pure Spirit. Together, we offer a series of training classes as well as one-on-one programs tailored to you and your family. Our professional trainers use an encouragement-focused training philosophy and relationship-based techniques to help you nurture a pet you can be proud of.

Training Class Schedules
Puppy Preschool
(age 7–16 weeks and their people)
We will teach you how to deal with those pesky puppy issues like house-training, nipping/mouthing and chewing. Your dog will learn to respond on cue to sit, down, relax and leave it.
Wednesdays, 6:15 – 7:15 pm
Six sessions, on-going, start anytimeFoundations
(dogs older than 16 weeks with no previous training classes)
We discuss solutions for jumping, nipping/biting and recovering stolen property (shoes, socks, remotes, etc.). Your dog will learn basic cues like sit, down, relax, stay and leave it. Each week is different so your dog will learn to focus and relax around other dogs.
Wednesdays, 7:15 – 8:15 pm
Six sessions, on-going, start anytimeLevel 1
(all ages, prerequisite: Puppy or Foundations class)
Together you and your dog will learn important daily living skills, like walking on a leash, staying in a sit or down with distractions, and coming when called.
Thursdays, 6:15 – 7:15 pm
Six consecutive weeks, call for start dateLevel 2
(all ages, prerequisite: Level 1)
The fun continues as you practice and polish the skills of Level 1. In this class, focus and attention are improved as you and your dog learn to work together with new and increased distractions.

We will work with your dog during the day and board him/her at our first-class resort at night.
